At Staffordshire Companions, we provide friendly, flexible support designed to help older adults remain independent, happy, and connected within their own homes and communities. Every service is tailored to individual needs, whether support is required for a few hours each week or on a more regular basis.
Loneliness and social isolation can have a significant impact on wellbeing. Sometimes, the most valuable support is simply having someone to talk to.
Our companionship service provides a friendly face and meaningful conversation, whether that’s sharing a cup of tea, reminiscing about happy memories, playing cards or board games, reading together, or simply enjoying time in good company. We take the time to build genuine relationships, helping clients feel connected, valued, and less alone.
Everyday tasks can become more difficult as we get older, but that doesn’t mean losing independence.
We can assist with weekly shopping trips, collecting prescriptions, posting letters, picking up essentials, or helping with other local errands. Clients can choose to accompany us or simply relax at home while we take care of things. Our goal is to make daily life easier and provide reassurance that the important tasks are taken care of.
Getting to appointments can often be a source of worry for both individuals and their families.
We provide reliable transport and companionship to medical appointments, hairdressers, social engagements, and community activities throughout Staffordshire and South Derbyshire. We can stay throughout appointments where appropriate, helping clients feel supported and confident when attending unfamiliar places or navigating busy environments.
A tidy, comfortable home plays an important role in maintaining independence and wellbeing.
Our support can include light household tasks such as washing up, changing bed linen, watering plants, helping to organise cupboards, and keeping living spaces neat and comfortable. We are here to lend a helping hand with those everyday jobs that can become increasingly challenging, helping clients continue to enjoy their homes safely and comfortably.
Please note: We do not provide personal care, medication administration, or specialist cleaning services.
Remaining active and engaged with the local community is essential for both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Whether it’s visiting a favourite café, enjoying a garden centre, attending a local event, meeting friends, or taking a gentle walk, we encourage clients to continue doing the things they love. Our support is designed to promote confidence, independence, and enjoyment, ensuring people can maintain hobbies, interests, and social connections.
No two people are the same, which is why we offer flexible visits that are tailored to individual circumstances. Some clients may benefit from an hour of companionship each week, while others may require more regular support across several services.
All visits are delivered with kindness, professionalism, and respect. Staffordshire Companions is DBS-checked and committed to providing dependable support that gives both clients and their families complete peace of mind. At Staffordshire Companions, we believe that a little support can make a big difference—helping people remain independent, maintain their confidence, and continue enjoying life on their own terms.
